Study during FALL BREAK?

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to my thread. (note: if you are uncomfortable of the length of this thread, you have the option to leave; if you would like to share personal experience with my situation below, I appreciate your efforts from the bottom of my heart.) I took a total of two PSAT Practice Test from my freshman and sophomore year, none of them were what I expected, (the last one has a score of 370 in Reading, 600 in Math, and 410 in Writing), and the third oncoming one is in October, which is about 3 and half weeks away from the break. Last week, I made a decision of gathering a total amount f $840 that I made as a waiter of a restaurant, and paid them at the C2 Education, where I receive my SAT tutoring at. I have only gone two days and it did help me a little bit, just a little bit, especially the techniques and strategies that teachers had told me, but it's all good and I believe I am going to succeed in the October test with improvement. That's probably the only reason for me to make the decision of pushing myself away from my favorite PS3 station with Modern Warfare 2 CD inserted in, and studying for the SAT only during the fall break. Today is Sunday and I already feel it is tough to maintain the stamina to keep myself disciplined all the time, but I know I have to push myself to meet the admission requirement of the college I dreamed to go. If you're a student like me, or perhaps you're not, would you please post some comments about what you think about the situation I'm currently in? Any efforts will be appreciated.

Fall break...? Schools only started for like a month and a half for us, and we don't have any significant breaks until Christmas :/

Well, your math is pretty good and your english seems fine from what you've typed up. o_O work on grammar (which is pretty much all the writing section is about) and reading faster/more efficiently. Take a bunch of practice tests, go over everythingg (even the stuff you got right) and make sure you know why __ is the right answer. oh, and a lot of the grammar questions are about subject/verb agreement and some idioms. Forgot what else..

Math and Writing are not my major concerns; look at my Critical Reading section score: 370! i wish I could at least get to 570 in October after this sat tutoring. any tips on the CR section will be appreciated.

I want to know what fall break is too. School just started, but I find it hard to keep up with AP Lit only. I lost my foundation for 11th grade because I did not write a single essay or anything..x_x Everything else is pretty chill though. I'm cheap so I plan to self study for SAT2's (unless I find that coupon for free online SAT lessons!) I'm dreading the day I have to apply for college.

[/quote] Fall break is basically a week off that takes place after school started like a month and half. I am in the same situation with you where i took AP lit the begining of this school year but i finally dropped it and switched to american lit, too much pressure..

[/quote] ergh, I don't what to tell people to do to study for critical reading. But during the test, I usually go to the questions that ask about specific lines first. then I go back to the passage and read up to the line they're asking for, answer the question, repeat until I finish the whole thing. Theen I can answer anything that asks about the general idea or whatever. works pretty well for boring passages.

wilber Is it an official break or "screw school for a week" break? I'm in Euro Lit, I didn't learn a thing in Am Lit except for The Scarlet Letter because it was an amazing book, and I ended up self reading it (the teacher didn't even finish ~_~)
