Im serious.I dont know what the heck this thing is,or what it does.I see henehoes use it after a word or sentence,sometimes other reasons. WHAT IS IT!11!11! Soo? What is it really used for? ./official term

Tilde. It's to make something like "hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" shorter, like so "Hi~" K, not the best example, but it gets the point across.

As the people said before, it's to make things that are long shorter. For example, OMGOMGOMGOMG turns to OMG~ Or, I just like to use it because it seems to make things sound more casual.

Funny no one has mentioned it yet. But in math it means approximate. So if you don't want to continuously write out a number, ie. pi, its ~3.14. Yeah..
