Anyone know a non-laggy desktop? Good for bossing, etc.

| I'm hoping some of you can direct me to a great desktop to buy. Why? Well...let's just say my current computer is so crappy that every character on MS is green. And killing a stump lags me. Yeah. Post models below, and tell me if they still do sell computers with Windows XP. I heard the HP Pavilion 743C is pretty good, but I can't find it in local stores. |

| Anything with a dual core and without integrated graphics should be just fine. So the price of the computer alone (without the screen) SHOULDN'T have to exceed 700 dollars if the main purpose for it is to boss on maple. Btw, a lot of Basilers seem to love the high end stuff. But honestly for maple, you won't need graphics cards that cost over 80 dollars. So if someone recommends you buy a quad core with a Radeon 5xxx series, do know that you aren't going to use your computer to the full extent if you use it mainly for Maple bossing. Hope that helps. EDIT: Btw most computers on retail nowadays usually don't sell with XP. I'll be surprised if you find a brand new computer that has XP installed rather than 7. In all honesty though, the benefits of Windows 7 outweigh the disadvantages of the glitchy stuff on Maple due to Windows 7. I recommend you reconsider wanting a XP OSed computer, but that's jsut my recommendation. |

|
Lasfdemon : That's like buying a Ferrari to drive to McDonald's.
Repost. And I'm pretty sure driving to McDonald's is a lot more enjoyable in a ferrari than a rav-4 EDIT: And most computers don't come with it. I did see a computer that had an option for it, though. And if you really want xp, you can get it for like 70 bucks http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m570.l1311&_nkw=windows+xp&_sacat=See-All-Categories |

| haha Alienware is WAY overpiced, i made my pc with same specs as a alien ware (YES SAME( only thing different was RAM brand and it costed me 1/3 of the alienwares model. You shouldnt buy a PC just to run maple. Since this doesnt requiere a lot. even a $300 computer will do that (just add a 1G video card) You wont find XP on a computer anymore unless they are minis (ntebooks) since Xp costs around 87 when 7 std cost around 40 check tiger direct for good deals |

| I used to Zak on a very old laptop with 1 ghz processor and either 512 or 256 mb ram. Compared to mapleing on new comp I didn't dc/lag, because it had XP(comapared to Vista/Seven). Now I use the new laptop, where I installed XP, I still use Seven for everything but maple. So long in short, maple is not that resources demanding, but still I'd buy a new comp for everything else and add XP for maple(buy XP separately). |
