My Complaint about Nexon

First off, I would like to apologize ahead of time for complaining on basil. I have never made a complaint thread on basil before, but I felt I should have my voice heard on this. My complaint is about the Dual Blade contest winners and the judging. I also apologize ahead of time if I have hurt any feelings of the winners. I actually think the winning designs are really not bad, I just think that a GOOD number of other entries were much more deserving of the prizes. Plus, looking at the quality of some other drawings by maple players, I'm sure there are even better out there. It says in the contest rules that the work MUST BE ORIGINAL. Why am I complaining? Simply because I worked 10+ hours on my crest because i need a new monitor badly (the maple points are nice, too!). I DON'T mind that I didn't win, but what I do mind is that the winning entries don't look up to par to MANY of the other good crests out there whether you look at the drawing quality OR the originality of the design. I'm sure PLENTY of other people, like me, spent 10+ hours working on their drawings to make them look kick butt awesome. I know "it's all a matter of opinion," but I feel as if Nexon simply took a random drawing because they didn't feel like judging each and every one of them at all. Finally, I think that this also makes Nexon look bad when this is what they have to show for drawing winners. I don't know if you guys have seen Neopets drawing contest winners, but omg, I drool at them, and they don't have a couple million players like Maplestory does. I don't know if I should even report this or send a ticket. It would probably just make me seem like a sore loser or something and they would ignore it. I just want to let my opinion be heard. Please discuss. I will lock this thread if too much flaming occurs.

I agree with you but I'm not that surprised by Nexon's decisions because they've ALWAYS been like that. They have no taste in art what so ever...=__=

[/quote] Everyone is entitled to share their opinion on this and also if your trying to tell us to complain about the winners, it isn't their fault. They were lucky or had artistic skills. I believe the TS is complaining about Nexon's method of judging and I agree w/ her.

Plus, your analogy doesn't really fit in here. OT: I agree, there were some artworks that deserved to get ranked, at the very least.

For all those people that are saying Nexon isn't paying enough attention... Open your eyes LOOK at how many games they have to manage at once They can't just focus on MapleStory they have to give attention to all their games. And yes that winner should be reported cause it is infact breaking one MAJOR rule in the contest...like you said it has to be original so anyways yea what can we do? That dude got away with it.

Well�Usually, when I see contests like these being held by major companies or corporations, the winners aren�t necessarily chosen by raw skill or talent. I think that they�re trying to send a certain message here�I�m not entirely sure WHAT purpose this yields, but I have recognized a pattern in the acceptance of pictures that have a more�child-drawn persona.

[/quote] We're saying they should pay attention to their players more and what we'd like i mean they dnt have to keep making new games all they care about is getting more nx from us and making new nx items

[/quote] I have friends that can draw better than any of those at age 13 and can probably draw better than the ts' by hand (no offense ts, I like yours and it's better than even the first place one even when it's plagiarized) OT: I agree with you. they could have at least looked through the picks that were random. Like that one nub begging for nx is ridiculous...
