Would be great if you could see the time here at basilmarket, not the time from your time-zone. I mean the time from where basilmarket is. No problem at all to meet up to each other if you all go from Basilmarket-time =) E.x: My time now is 9.10 (+1 from Greenwich* coz im from Sweden) so u can say im 8.10 a.m (if now a.m is before p.m). If im gonna deside a time, it will be a bit wierd if I talk to a guy who dont know bout timezones and ther difference. So thats why we all assumes from one time, Basilmarket-timezone! (this would stand in the RULES too) *Greenwich is in England, its the standard world-time. Time-zone map: link

NasiBo0y 10/30/05 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
But if the servers are in Houston Then explain why the time is -3.5 greenwich if its in houston then it's -8 But the differents between basil's time and my time are 4.5 hours And I'm living in The Netherlands That's +1 greenwich And -3.5 greenwich is only in Newfoundland Canada

I think the time zone it would be in is off the coast of New York. In the Atlantic Ocean, but that can't be right =o

well, looking at the auction ending times they say CST, but thats still 30 mins off :/ is it like half daylight savings time there or something???? or maybe its changed based on where you set your city. Im in GMT - 5 and right now its 10:30, but the post says it happened at 11:00

Hamtaro was right... I'm in California and the site's time is 3.5 hours ahead of my time. Pacific Time Zone is -8 GMT so the site must be -4.5 GMT I don't know why the site's clock is 30 mins off, but it is... Maybe when the server first went up it was set to 0 mins after the hour but in real time it was 30 mins off the hour... Anyways, doesn't it really matter? Just post something and look at the time stamp for it and then look at your clock and figure out how many hours difference it is so you can figure the time when you need to...

Um, ideally it would be done correctly, which means that you specify your time offset in your account preferences, and the times are adjusted to your local time, since someone elses timezone doesn't mean anything to me.

Mysery: U dont understand this, the problem is that we all have different timezones. Not every1 play 24-7, or why u dont have problems with timezones -.^

Sure, I sometimes run into problems meeting up with people. Probably the best solution would be to have people specify the hours that they typically play under their basil-id, rather than confusing everyone by trying to have them run on GMT.

A live java clock would be enough in my opinion, or even one that only refresh when refreshing the page. Like: "Current time at BasilMarket is 23.00" (a 24 hours format all over the website would be appreciated, it would be easier for those who live in the other side of the world ^.^)
