American Media hates Asian Males

I'll start off with this: In American Media (TV Shows, Movies, Magazines, etc.), asian males are viewed as weak, cynical, manipulative, sexist, spinless, nerdy and undesirable by women. Why? because American Media is run by white guys. Go to Wikipedia, search your favorite movie or tv show. Look who directed/produced/and starred in that movie. thats right, white males. Occasionally there are white females along with other minority groups, but the majority is white men. I'll start off by giving you a few out of the many many many movies that negatively portray asian males. The Dark Knight: Remember a guy named "Lau", no? me neither. Lau was a chinese accountant in the movie who worked for the mob. He was viewed as a coward who only cared about money and would more than gladly rat out his clients to save his own ass. The Hangover: If you watched the movie, 'nuff said. 21 (The Film): 21 was a film based on a true story about MIT (MIT= The Harvard of Technology) students who used their genius to cleverly cheat their way through the casinos and gained quite a large sum of money. In reality, most of the students were asian males, yet in the movie they were all white, except for Aaron Yoo, but it doesn't matter because Aaron Yoo's character was portrayed as cold and cynical. The Karate Kid (2010): Cheng, the main antagonist of the movie, is portrayed as evil and manipulative. You don't even need to see the movie to know this, just watch the trailer. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift: The main antagonist is a japanese male who is crowned "The Drift King". He had a white girlfriend, but the movie's main protagonist is a white guy who won in a race against the former Drift King and was crowned the New Drift King. The japanese guy's white girlfriend left him for the white guy because she thought he was too manipulative and weak. Sorry, if i don't know the names, I haven't watched this movie in a long long time. The Last AirBender: Obviously in the cartoon, Aang is asian, in the movie he's white. Dragonball Evolution. Same deal wit "The Last Airbender" with Goku. On the news, you never see an asian male viewed positively. Outside of politics, the only thing you see that involve asian males are them being viewed negatively. ie the asian man that married a video game, the asian man that is the champion of hot dog eating, and the asian human beatbox that could do multiple "mario themed" beats using only his mouth. Now these things may sound interesting, but they don't exactly help asian males with the ladies, in fact these things gross them out. Fortunately for asian women, they do not have these problems. In American Media, asian women are always paired up with White Males. You NEVER see a movie with a Asian Man-White Woman relationship on TV or at the Movie Theaters. But I can guarantee that you have, sometime in your lifetime, seen a White Man-Asian Woman relationship. In real life, loser white guys who can't get white girls go for minority groups. I'm n

No one knows what he truely looks like [/quote] you're just blurring a pretty clear line...with something that is unknown, you use clues as to find out the unknown, and the clues if you follow correctly lead to him being asian more that he is white...that is a fact (not that he is asian, but the clues leading to that idea). i dont know about you, but the name goku sounds more asian than white. above : his voice, the way he act, and the way he talked didnt give him a positive image...yea its hilarious...i laughed to, but his characterization was racist.

They don't hate us, it's just that not a lot of Asians in American are actors. In Hong Kong/China, we have tons of actors in TV series, and like only one white guy. (and he is often portrayed as a smart guy who has a high position in a office). Just looking at TVB (Chinese company that airs Chinese films/series), we have so many actors, where as here in American, instead of acting, our parents make us focus on school work and our future. Look at the Asians now in America. We are the highest income race in America and highest race with at least a bachelor degree. While more and more white/other Americans may go down the acting road, more Asians fill in the original spots, such as being managers or owners of companies. The way I see it, we are contributing to America greatly. Let whites Americans bring entertainment in movies for us, and let blacks and Hispanics bring sports entertainment for us. As for we Asians? Just do what we do best (SUPPOSEDLY) and provide American with a (ON AVERAGE)smarter group of people that can help American balance. A country with people that can bring entertainment to all and still maintain a section with skilled and smarter people. I'm not saying Asians are better than white and other races, just that we contribute a different thing to America. Entertainment is just as important as education. So, they don't hate us, it's just that maybe contributing entertainment isn't really our thing in America. If we wanted to act, we could always go back to China and perhaps land a role in a TVB film series.

[/quote] Using "clues" to "guess what he is" is called inference. Your inferring him, and thats inferences are based on your opinion and interpretation , its not a "fact" Your opinion may differ from another ones opinion.

People keep saying "oh but China, Japan, and South Korea also use stereotypes". Guys, First off, we are a very very diverse group, Americans I mean. In South Korea and Japan they HAVE to stereotype because chances are they haven't met many black or white people, they only go by what they heard. and China is Communist 'nuff said. In America, we can't use that excuse.
