Isn't it better to believe in something than nothing? At least you'll get a chance to go to somewhere if that somewhere does exist amirite? I mean how could you possibly lose anything in believing in God? You don't nesscarily lose anymore time of your life than being on a computer, really. Perhaps you think if you died and found out there was no God you'd be upset, but then at that point you'd already have no concious or the truth would of been confirmed.

I'm not an Atheist, I'm just not religious. We decompose when we die, how hard is it to understand that? D:

Well if it exists then I'll be there. If not then I'm not gonna worry about it. On a side note, why do people have a tendency towards trying to make atheists and agnostics religious?

I suppose it is better to believe that the microwave has unidentifiable rays that control the mind, and it is best to wear tinfoil hats to prevent those rays from controlling me than believe in no such thing because of a lack of proof.

It's not good to believe in something that isn't real. That's just like tricking yourself.

I rather not to believe than to believe on something just for the sake of its benefits.

Excuse me? what if you believed in god and then legitly found out that he isn't real? then wouldn't it have been better to not have believed in him at all? If there was a god (which I'm not saying there isn't, there may be one, who knows !) he would want us to live our lives not believing in him because he is extremely wise and knows that this whole debate on wheather he exists or not is causing hate and strife. he would only want us to live our lives the way we want to, not worship him. if that was the case then he wouldn't be a very loving god. and how do you know you don't have any concious after you die? have you died yet and known what it's like?

By believing in God you are told not to question anything. You are taught that what is said is final. By believing in said god, you are losing precious curiosity that humans hold so dear.

[/quote] Based on the teachings of the bible it ain't as simple as just saying "hey I believe in God", there are a lot of rules that govern your everyday life, something I am not prepared to do. Having said that you can argue that if a God exists no one would really know his/hers exact agenda, for all we know God could grand afterlife for people who logically deduce that God does not exist.

The very basis of morality in theistic religions is abstinence of human nature itself, and inflicting guilt and retribution upon 'heretics' -- those unwilling to swallow fantastical tales, that fly in the face of all empirical knowledge, without question. How anyone could elect, as per Pascal's wager, an infinitesimally small possibility of the misery of an eternity in boredom, in return for complacency and self-deceit over a life of indulgence and satisfaction is beyond me.

TO CHRISTIANS- Why must you shove your beliefs down everyones throats and try to make them believe what you do? We have our own beliefs. and i have nothing against christianity or any other religion i just have a problem with the christians that preach to me.
