Your College and Uni Funds

So, how are all your College/Uni funds going? How much do you have saved up? Are you one of the lucky ones who have parents that have been depositing money for you ever since your birth? If you already are in College and Uni, how well are your funds? Are you paying for your school, or is a relative? For me, I'm one of the unlucky ones who's parents aren't able to put forth any money for my College and Uni funds, so any money I make from my Grade 9 year to my Senior year, I keep for my University. Hopefully, I can score myself some nice scholarships. I'm doing MANY volunteer hours in hoping of getting me a scholar shop for them also.

My parents didn't save anything. I still need to talk to my grandparents since I'm the only kid who seems to be on the track to college in my family :/ I got 18K or so from my college, and it'll be spent over 4 years, so I get about 4K/yr, leaving me to come up with 8k/yr. Pretty much on my own here I guess hah.

Oh yeah, and if the University or college sees you are smart, but your family can't afford it, they give you something like a discount. So, add that with your scholarships, and then...

[/quote] Yeah, been working on scholarships and looking into fafsa stuff cuz apparently I need to speak with my school about it to see if I got it. Unfortunately my dad makes a good chunk of coin; but we have so many bills to pay, apparently fafsa doesnt take that into account so I may not get aid for that reason.

Not sure how much I have, but I was one of the lucky ones, and all money I earn, I put some of it into my college/uni fund. Wanna be a music or doctor major, which'll cost alot.

My parents have about $60k saved up, and I'm going to be applying for scholarships on top of that. My grandparents offered to pay for my tuition, but I'll probably only take their offer if I decide to be a doctor, or if I go out-of-state.

i'm planning to get around 20k from scholarships, and probably some funding from my mother's side. and my parents might be selling a house in dubai so a portion of that money would go to my university funds.
