| They were both garbage, I played RDR for maybe like 2 days and never touched it again. There's no lasting appeal to them, I don't understand why it's so enjoyable, blow up a helicopter with an RPG and you'll never want to play it again. |

[/quote] i agree but i liked rdr a lot while i was still playing it. it got REALLY boring after i finished the story. no one plays the deathmatch games. it would have been better if they made a lobby. |

 | Since you already have san andreas I would do RDR, I would assume RDR is a bigger change from san andreas than GTA4 is. This is more assumption than actual fact though :P |

| I had GTA IV for about 5 months or so when borrowing it from a friend. I still play it often, because of the size of the world, interactions and places you can go to. (Plus i love playing cops n robbers online ) I bought Red dead just over a month ago. I played it for 3-4 days, completed it, played multiplayer, and got bored. I still play it sometimes when friends get on, but the multiplayer is too camp friendly, as you just have to sit behind something and lock on to players as they run past getting 1 hit ko'ed. The free roam is awesome, and there's a ton to do whether you're playing on single player or multiplayer, but in comparison to GTA, there's just no hope. GTA IV is a giant city with a SHIPload of huge buildings, different scenery, people, different vehicles, etc. etc. Red dead is an open desert, where you're lucky to find a tree after 10minutes of riding on your horse. Overexaggerated, but there really is not much compared to it. Cars on GTA are diverse and many. On RDR...There's a horse, a horse and cart, a train, a carriage and horse...I think that's about it. Every 5 minutes riding around the wilderness you'll bump into a random woman, who asks for your help, only to be shot at by a bunch of thieves hiding behind the carriage next to her. One thing i can tell you that RDR definitely has over GTA is the story line. I was wanting to keep continuing through the gripping storyline the entire playthrough, as opposed to GTA's story where I'm still on one of the first missions because of how repetitive and boring it is. I know it sounds biased but I honestly love both games. They're both amazing in their own unique ways. I just think if you can only get one, at least for now, get GTA. If you can get both, get both. They're definitely worth the money. Although RDR is of course going to be much more costly than GTA is right now due to it only being out for about 2 months. I'd go into some full depth review on both games...but you don't really need me for that. I'm sure there's a billion better places Have fun with whatever you buy ^^ |
