Thoughts about Wind Archers?

Having been a wind archer, I have realized that i walk a very lonely path, its not easy seeing a fellow WA in action, much to my disappointment. Is there any benefits of being a wind archer, as opposed to the regular adventurers? (and any other words of encourage ments would be nice)

I've never made a cygnus knight. In my opinion they are useless classes.

Despite what a lot of people say, wind archers are a lot of fun, especially at 3rd job+. At least that's what I think. As for benefits...we get a skill that's like DS, and gives us a 30% att boost if we use it. Plus you're pretty much on 140% speed all the time once you max thrust and get a +10 speed bow, unlike explorer archers who don't max thrust until much much later. We also get hurricane and bow expert early, so technically an average wind archer is a better bosser than explorer archers before 4th job. But really, you should be playing your characters for fun.

If your planning a windarcher for 90+, you might aswell just make a adventurer. Most cygnuses i know play for the 100/110 skills, to do what? Use it for 10 more levels? Unable to do most PQ's, Unfavored for 120+ bosses, level cap, only point to making one is early game 1-80 fun, or blessing of fairy mule.

I like some of their skills, but in general I dont find them practical. They have storm break, but as a 6th mastery Evan, i have dragon thrust. I do like their individual strafe animation, as well as Wind Shot, Magnum Shot and Eagle Eye. That's basically it. They're good for people who wont go past maybe the 90-100 mark, and even then it'd be better to choose an adventurer.

I played Wind Archer when the CYGK first came out. I thought it was hell as boring. But I really like playing recently especially after 3rd job!

Actually, the point of making a cygnus knight is if you are such a casual player that you don't think you will even make it to third. However, lvling is becoming easier and easier. Third job is now very achievable with all the new 2nd job content. So cygnus knights are strictly for the person who plays VERY seldomly, and would like to see some flashier skills earlier, and to do it all without having to buy pricey 4th job books. To answer ur question then: Cygnus is NEVER worth it, its for the player who just wants some solo fun and doesn't play nearly enough to care, and those people in maple are truely rare (seemingly every1 cares about equips and dmg).

It's true, of all the CoK, WA's are the least common and least awesome. If you wanna make an archer class, just make an adventurer. BMs and MMs are remarkably well balanced between the two as it is right now, so you're sure to have fun once you get to a higher level.

so i have a level 111 wind archer but dont know how to make money should i just get back on my level 79 hermit and start training or should i get on my ranger and wait until im a bow master or get on my level 60 fighter and make that one a hero?

I'm sorry you feel lonely. I know I used to go days without seeing a fellow bowman when I first started. The reason wind archers are not played much, as far as I can tell, is that they kind of miss the best part of being an archer. The really fun stuff that bowmen do doesn't happen until 3rd and 4th job. Some of the best stuff happens after you get sharp eyes and whatnot. Wind Archers kind of mess that up because they just get to the point where it would be a lot of fun, and then you're finished and can't continue. My advice to you would be to use your current stuff to fund a regular bowman or xbowman, and keep the cygnus around to get blessing of fairy on your new character. You can pretty easily get a bowman to 50 nowadays, but you will have to re-do some of the more painful archer levels (55-65). On the other hand....the longer you stay with your Cygnus, the harder it gets to leave it. But if you intend to keep playing it, you're eventually gonna max it out right when you're starting to really have fun with it. Then you've got to go back to square one, and that sucks. Whatever you do, though, have fun with it. -itsme2-
