| A system restore will not revert your hard drive to its factory state. While your laptop is in the process of booting, enter the Advanced Boot Settings menu by striking F8, or the equivalent key for your BIOS. From this menu, repair and debugging options are available; select "Repair my computer." A Dell application should appear, offering various options for repairing your system. Of these, select "Restore Dell factory image." Your hard drive will be reformatted, and, of course restored to its factory settings with operating system and drivers intact. |

 | Just realize when you do that, EVERYTHING gets erased... it's like you just took the computer out of the box for the first time, and there won't be ANYTHING that belongs to you on it. If that's what you want, go for it. |
