| Recently, my friend locked my laptop. He did this buy removing the battery and pressing a bunch of buttons. Now, when I boot up the comp, i have to input a password to pass. I looked up on the internet and i used all the factorydefault passwords like PHOENIX, phoenix, CMOS, BIOS but they all dont work Any help please? this is urgent |

| Blackmail your friend. Now reread your entire post if you want a better answer.
insaneness : He did this buy removing the battery and pressing a bunch of batteries. CMOS, BIOS
>=[ |

| Not quite sure what your situation is here =O Did your friend happen to set a BIOS password? (prompts you as soon as you power on the computer) |

| That's what it sounds like- a BIOS password. You'll need to either look in your computer's user manual or the computer manufacturer's web site and see if there's any info on resetting the CMOS to defaults for that model. He obviously changed it to something other than those "default passwords" you listed. Unless he gives you the password or you can reset it to the default (no password), you're going to stay locked out. Just as a side note- if this is what your "friend" does to you, I hope I never meet any of your enemies. |
