Mosque @ Twin Towers?

Question: What would you think if the US Government built a Mosque over the place where the Twin Towers once stood? Thoughts? I heard that they're going to do this (which I think is totally absurd) but I haven't confirmed yet, I think it doesn't make ANY sense at all... Another Question: If this happened without the Media reporting it, what would you think?

What idiot builds on top of a pool? I think you're talking about the proposed mosque and community center planned to go up near WTC plaza. There's nothing wrong with houses of worship in the middle of downtown manhattan. There's at least 2 churches close to WTC plaza already, so there's no reason why a mosque can't join them.

They shouldn't build one because of the fact that that's a historical place and nothing should be built there. Perhaps a monument the the memory of 9/11 would be suitable if anything.

why would the government build a mosque? It would be some Islamic organization. Even though they have the right to do so, I don't think any organization should build one because it'll be creating a huge controversy for nothing. A mosque can be built anywhere in that area, it doesn't have to be at Ground Zero. Also, the muslims that want to build this mosque aren't the ones that plotted to destroy the towers. American Muslims love their country. They aren't terrorists or murderers. I agree that there should be a memorial at Ground Zero. No house of worship.

Why would anyone really care? I mean of course there are people who are completely ignorant and think that all Muslims are terrorists, but for the majority of people I think they wouldn't care either way.

I doubt any Muslims will build anything on that site. It is a historic site for the Americans, and every single person who lost a loved one there. I have a lot of friends who were Muslim, and to be honest with you I thought of them exactly as you guys did, but after you actually stop, and try to get to know them, they are exactly just like us. Anyways, I doubt any Muslim organization will build a mosque there because I'm sure any real Muslim wouldn't want to cause any problems between themselves and the American people.
