There's a blind guy in my summer Criminology class who happens to be also a refugee from Afghanistan (go figure -.-) I've been really good friends with him up to now, but we have this paper due on Thursday that he wants me to help him with. We have to use different theories of criminology we learned in class and apply it to an article. The problem is... it almost seems like he wants me to write the paper for him. He's called me twice today and told me that he doesn't know what to do and he really needs help. I already send him my notes per class. We're meeting later tonight to go over his paper that he just sent me. And he told me that he failed the midterm, so if he doesn't do well on the paper, he'll fail the class. I feel really bad..

Maybe, he just wants to be around you . Anyways, if you can find a separate theory from yours then you should give it to him and tell him to look at the notes to figure the rest out. Forgot he was blind, you can read the notes outloud to him :D

The worst thing is that in the rought draft he sent me, he just took parts of the article itself and inserted them into the paper without any quotes or references >.< Is it bad if I turn down a blind guy's request for help?

[/quote] Just tell him the basics of writing the research paper and emphasize that he can't plagiarize. Then leave him from there.

Well, here's the paper he sent me that we're going to go over tonight: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8372155/AlyasArticle.doc I picked it for him since I'm super familiar with the case in question (having met one of the criminals involved personally), thinking it would save me time, but yeah.. it's horrible. He doesn't even mention theories of crime ><
