Really annoying virus downloading nudes onto desktop

This really has me pissed off. I had a good day, and I come back, and have to deal with this crap. K, so here's the story. I come home, and check my e-mail. There's nothing there So I close my internet browser, open up Windows Media Player, and MSN. I'm playing music and talking to my friends for a few hours. Then, out of nowhere Something pops up and installs itself (it presents itself as an anti-virus/firewall software by the name of "Protection Center") I try to stop it, but there are pop-ups about "high threat viruses," "firewall needs to be activated," "install anti-virus or all data and files will be damaged or destroyed." I'm having to close them all, and this takes time, since my computer is so damn slow. The program completes installing itself, and the pop-ups don't stop. I try to use Task Manager to end the program, but i get a message saying "Task Manager has been disabled by the administrator" I try to delete it, it says it's a shortcut I try to remove it, it says "this program has already been removed." So, I restart my computer, because the lag is getting on my nerves. Restart complete, everything loads up, and I see that there are nudes, and shortcuts to "sites" all over my desktop Pop ups are still there. I want this to stop. It's really pissing me off, having ruined a perfectly good day. -No, I don't have an anti-virus, as the one I had has been expired for the past 3 months, and my parents refused to renew it. -And no, I haven't installed something free, because they always gave me problems (avast!, AVG) Please help

Try this: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-protection-center Also, I recommend you do get an AV - a free one like Avira or Avast! (dunno, why the second cause you trouble though).

Yes- can you elaborate on what problems you had with anti-virus scanners..? That's extremely unusual to hear.

My computer is much, much faster when I'm not running an anti-virus (before the viruses come along anyways) They always seemed to interfere (ex. working or playing a game, and the thing suddenly decides to scan on its own, despite having performed one the previous day, and then everything lags like mad) Just quite annoying in general to me. :/ Not sure if this is normal or not though

If it isn't busy (unless your computer must be super fast), the anti-virus isn't scanning and finding anything. It's the same as when you're defragmenting, doing a disk clean-up, etc. Best to deal with it. By the way, you can set up when it'll start the scheduled scan. Just search around the options and configure what you need and what you don't.

Yeah.. that's true, it CAN eat up CPU resources when it's doing its thing. I have AVG set to "low priority" so when I start doing something else, AVG gets way less CPU time. I tried setting it so it would run its daily scan when I'm not using the systems but I have trouble finding any times I'm not... It's like wearing seat belts tho- I'd rather do that than risk it.
