Hi, I'd like to make a custom gaming comp. My budget is $800. I'd like it be good for heavy gaming. Like CoD MW2 stuff like that What I would prefer AMD Processor 3.0GHz or more 4GB Ram Really good video card like Nvidia Geforce 9800 or so 1 TB Harddrive Liquid cooling 600+ Watt Power supply This is what I have so far but, I'm sure you can make better http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4350429&sku=O261-7612 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2776974&sku=O261-2006 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5509395&sku=H450-9002 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4444096&sku=A455-2886 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6074851&sku=A79-1940 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4540656&sku=A406-1117 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5744117&sku=C432-1008 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4410186&sku=E145-9856 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5213932&sku=M17-7302

For other shopping options, check out Newegg.com and Amazon.com and see if they have better offers or better shipping offers. I have nothing to complain about your build except for two things. The video card you have selected the GeForce 9800 GT is now two generations old. Unless that rebate is fulfilled, the Radeon 4850 will outclass it at a simliar price. Newegg has had 4850 sales for some time, often dropping below $100. Check out techbargains.com if any are active right now. Unless you want to drop at least $200 for a custom water loop, modern air coolers will perform better than liquid coolers at the same price. http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1292/6/

Why do you need liquid cooling? I would use either the stock HSF or an aftermarket one (oh, it's an OEM. xD Get an aftermarket HSF then). Btw, the CPU is a AM2+. It has a DDR2 memory controller and not a DDR3 one, so you would need to change both your RAM and mobo.
McLovin : So just a diff CPU?
Yeah, that too. I would go with a Corsair PSU and a different case too, btw. Plus, you need a DVD drive, if you haven't gotten one already

I like that case, and is his cpu good? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5752143&CatId=4431 What case would you say to use. Do you mean like full or mid size or so? If so what size? Oh also what video card should I get. I'm willing to spend $100 more on the vid card. So a $200 vid card. Is this a good vid card? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4369731&CatId=1558 also you said a diff psu. is this one good? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4352342&CatId=106

Yeah, that CPU would work too. You could go for the cheaper AMD PII 925 as well. Also, see if you could get a mobo with SATA 6GB/s and USB 3.0, as it's around that price range anyways. Well, what I was saying was getting a case that has better airflow and easier cable management like the good old CM690/II, Antec 300, CM Scout, etc (you also need a bigger case depth-wise to fit those higher-end GPU, or it will hit the HDD cage). Personally, I don't like cases with doors, as they tend to get in the way, as well as it tend to get broken if people walk around the computer a lot. And I would go for an HD5770. Edit: and you don't need to that 850w PSU. This one should be more than sufficient: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3438609&CatId=106 Even the Corsair 550w will do too.
McLovin : Why a 650? Also does tiger direct have that vid card because I cant find it.
If you are going to power one video card, a 550 W PSU is enough. 650 W for SLI/Xfire. ATI HD Radeon 5770 is not an Nvidia card.
McLovin : Why a 650? Also does tiger direct have that vid card because I cant find it.
As this will also be able to power your system: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3436149&Sku=C13-2501 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5316156&CatId=3669 Btw, you should also considered looking around in Newegg for combos and cheaper parts. You may be able to save on some stuff.

As long as it is a good one. Alsoooo is this motherboard good? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6089169&CatId=4296

Doesn't necessary have to be a full-sized one. Well, this is my case: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3198497&CatId=32 This is the newer CM690 II case: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5633975&CatId=32 Scout: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4543058&CatId=32 Haf 922M: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4631382&CatId=32 Antec 300: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129042&cm_re=Antec_300-_-11-129-042-_-Product Antec 300 Illusion (no free shipping like above one) : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129066 Edit: How's your budget, btw? Since I put the items initially, and I just remember that it was already max out your budget without the cooler (didn't factor in the rebates though). And yeah, that mobo would work. Do you plan on xfire/SLi-ing your GPU in the future?
