Sorry if i spelled plagurisim wrong..Anywho i recently got a free essay from online about "to kill a mockinbird" and i changed a paragraph and edited it like fairly well. well im wondering because i need to check it on turnitin.com which is a website that checks for plagurisim. Then i need to show my teacher whether it was plagurized or not. Im wondering what the consequences are :D. High school btw.

Instead of going through all this hassle, you could just have done it yourself. Ot: They won't count the grade and give you some detentions.

well I'm not sure about what the consequences may be, some schools have a no tolerance policy at least you'll never have to worry about someone plagiarizing anything you'll ever write

It will be noted on your student record. You may also receive a suspension, a 0 for the essay and possibly lose credits for the course. Plagiarism is no joke. You're only digging your own grave.

a 0 would be the lightest punishment, however as long as you mixed the wording up there shouldn't be a problem, Turnitin detects phrases of words.

I usually look at pre-written essays and take the correct and intelligent ideas, and add them to my own so as to not have an essay that is able to be traced almost word-for-word.

For post-secondary, you get expelled. For high school, it isn't as serious but you'll definitely have a talking to with the teacher for sure and maybe get involved with the administration. All dependent on the degree of this plagiarism and how well the teacher knows you.

uhh well i'm assuming this isn't an ap class and you're a freshman. if you're caught plagiarizing your teacher can either give you a warning-detention, or, if he/she deems it a big enough of an offense he/she can notify ap teachers and diminish your chances to take ap classes in the future. if this is an ap class and you're not a freshman, then your school district can be notified and your eligibility for prom can be revoked. =p

it'd be safer to just read the summaries on sparknotes, then sum up the summary in your own words

But it sucks cause that is my new school and the reason i came over there was because i got smoking weed at my old school. Oh man im in deep sh** with my parents

for to kill a mockingbird? one of the easiest books to interpret and take interest in? (at least for most) you have a long way to go if you can't write on your own whether it's about books or college apps.
