I'm probably a bit late on this, but I've wanted to post something like this for a while, so I figured today's the day. I'm going to talk about why I made SniperApogee, give a brief history of my strengthless journey, when/why I added my first points into str (spoiler alert level 175), and finally what I think of my decision to reach 175 strless and finally start adding points to str. This will be reallllllllly long , and to some people boring, so if at any point you feel you're wasting your time, feel free to leave. You don't even need to tell me about it. (quick note, it's possible I'm not the top strengthless archer in case there's a bowmaster that went higher, but I don't know of any, so if not top strless archer then top strless marksman F3). Onwards! Chapter 1: the motivation My first real character was an i/l magician, but that got boring by 55 and I started my first crossbowman, which reached level 104 and was(is) called OBLlVION. My wizard finding two steelies and a napendeth honey helped fund this guy, with epic equipment such as a 6 attack work glove, enough mesos to 100% several low level crossbows, and even some funding to scroll a level 42 crossbow with 60%s! At some point on my way up with this character, 4th job was released, and HP washing was becoming better-understood. It turned out that leveling with int gear increased base MP and let characters hp wash much more than ever thought possible. I was helmless to the end, and realized that my 75 str was excessive for a level 90 crossbow, and that KMS would continue to add new equips that would add even more str. Resetting points I added seemed like a waste, especially on a character that was so limited in his hp. I loved the class, but I felt that it deserved me putting in a bit more effort and thought into it. HP aside, the class seemed to have no weakness, so I wanted to get rid of that last glaring issue as well. And then, KMS's anniversary came, and with it, level 64 crossbows. Fast attack speed, +100 HP, and a fairly high attack power compared to the rare and expensive nescheres and nearly unattainable dragon shiner crosses. Most importantly, they required 0 strength, so I wouldn't have to worry about whatever strength equipment may or may not be out. As long as I could make a solid nishada, I could just pile on the dex/attack and wait until later on in 4th job (140s) when we received more +str equipment and I could finally use a godly high attack crossbow. I had no idea back then how far going strengthless would take me... Chapter 2: The crossbowman rebirth As our own 3 year anniversary came closer, I used the FM mesos I'd managed to make and the new MTS system to put together some decent int gear that would've made at least a few mages of the day turn green with envy. After all, equipment could always be upgraded at higher levels, but that MP at the start was hit-or-miss. Once the anniversary reached GMS, I started hunting and buying maple nishadas, and after going through m

Darnit Hotshot, you're no longer the exception to the rule. No longer can I say "Strless will always underpower Low Str -- unless you're that one guy." Still, your HP and range are both higher than mine will ever be, so good work on that. Now go make a 25-Base Lampion using Bandit.

FreeinternetWhen I read the title I just knew it was you D. And son of a gun, what an intense damage range. Also best statement that should always be in which class people should pick- >Play a class you enjoy, instead of a class that does the most damage or has the best buffs. Don't stress over your goals, and don't let maple run your life. Kick back, have fun, and don't give up on what you enjoy.

evilmuffinVery inspirational, and you know, it doesn't matter if you're not strless anymore. The path you followed was hard and tiresome, but it was all worth it. This is what should matter to you.

Wow, I'm surprised as many people read this. Questions, let's see. My training at 110 was over a year ago so it might not be as relevant, but I probably newtied mostly, maybe some gobies here and there. Umm Kevvl, I think you were trying to be funny and I missed it xD. At least this will simplify your speeches about strengthlessness. :P Andrew, I'm glad we agree on that, now if only everyone thought that way, then we could bring the fun back to gaming lol. Evilmuffin, the path was never particularly hard or tiresome, but I did enjoy it, so in that it was worth it. I was never really aiming for anything beyond my scope. I figured I would've stopped training by 15x-16x, or early 17x for sure. Now I'm at 180 and I feel about the same as I always did - I'll train if a friend of mine wants to, if there's a 2x event at a convenient time, or if I just want to solo and hunt some PoTs.

It's good that you didn't stay strless. A strless lvl 150+ archer is just wasted potential.

If I had scrolled an equally rediculous nishada, it would've given this dragon shiner cross a run for its money. It wouldn't win, but it couldn't be called a fail weapon for a level 150+ to use.

You're an inspiration to marksmen everywhere. If only you were in broa. Great job on your crossbow and lvl 180. I'll probably quit maple before I even hit lvl 160, let alone scroll that godly crossbow of yours or even find the money for it. You'll always be the strongest strless marksman alive. (I still consider you strless since your str is still below 25 lol)

I couldn't stop reading! Your story was inspiring and reinforced the main point of Maplestory as being a game for enjoyment purposes and that everyone should deserve their personal style of playing. Glad to see someone's on the same boat! :D
