It goes with A^2 + B^2 This always factors into (A+B)(A-B) You just have to memorize this So the answer is [(p+q)-(p-q)] and [(p+q)+(p+q)]

Isn't it already factorised?

(p+q)^2 - (p-q)^2 [(p+q)+(p-q)] [(p+q)-(p-q)] [2p][2q] 4pq is the simplified result. EDIT: @TS: 4pq IS the result, heck, you wouldn't even need to factorise to see it.

littOfiShxShow your work for marks. [(p+q)(p+q)] - [(p-q)(p-q)] = (p^2+pq+pq+q^2) - (p^2-pq-pq+q^2) = p^2+pq+pq+q^2-p^2+pq+pq-q^2 = 4pq
He specifically asked to show all steps. I'd assume his teacher would like to see all the mathematical steps, not just simply stating "It's a difference of two squares."
Not arguing with the show all steps part, I've even added an extra part to my solution for it. I'm saying that you took the long way of expanding the terms out when you could factorise it by stating that it's a difference of two squares. I'm not saying your method is wrong either, it's just slightly more tedious
