Gundam appreciation thread

Due to the noticeable lack of Gundam in Basil, I have decided to create this thread. I'll start with my first Gundam series - Gundam SEED. Well, where do i start! When my friend told me to watch this at first, I didn't because I thought it was some lame cartoony robot fighting junk. Only after he insisted several times I decided to give it a chance. Boy was I wrong. I was captivated by the opening; a nice catchy song, great visuals (well I watched it on the year it was released, 2002, so it was good by those standards) and it didn't have any dragonball-imitation mechas like I thought. The great thing about SEED was that unlike most of the other Gundam series, it focused on the characters more and was less mecha-driven. For those who haven't watched it, it's about a regular teenager who, living in a neutral colony in a time of war between 2 factions, gets his life turned upside down one day when the war reaches them. And no, he wasn't a typical "Huh you want me to pilot this? YOSHHHH LETS KICK ASS YEEEHEHH" protagonist, but instead more of a pacifist, although he's practically forced to fight and murder which pains him. To make things worse, he ends up having to fight with his childhood friend who he split from a few years ago due to the war. This really made me like the series even more; it was a nice change from the typical "Lets go all guns blazing kill the big bad boss!" animes. I shouldn't spoil anymore though. Errrr anyway long story short, I now love the Gundam series, and by coming to this thread, hopefully you do too! So share the love and appreciation for an awesome franchise! All glory to Sunrise!

I remember watching Gundam Wing when I was younger. It was a good show. I liked Gundam Seed as well.

Loved Gundam ever since I was 5 :p Can't wait for 00 movie to come out. I have a Strike Freedom Lightning Edition, so it had wiring inside and you could make its eyes and joints light up. Took forever to build.
