My computer had alot of viruses and i wanna know how to get rid of all of them. I system restored a lot when the virus thing came up because it was annoying me. So my question is HOW DO I GET RID OF THEM :[ ? and if theres a FREE antivirus thingy that will actually get rid of everything such as keyloggers, trojans and more because every other antivirus thing either told me there was nothing wrong with my comp(which there clearly is), told me i had to pay to get rid of them or just told me how many infected things i had. Please help me and i appreciate all the help thank you :D

I suggest you re-format your computer.. quick and easiest way to get rid of everything. I'm saying this because I've been in the same situation just recently, and I know that most anti-virus programs do not get rid of all your viruses.

Yes, it will kill them, but they will never be completely erased from your system... unless it is a weak virus.

try avg + malwarebytes if you look around on youtube the user posts serial number for it.

Reformatting is the best way to get rid of all of the viruses. You CAN save all of the files onto a flash drive, but that is risky because you may accidentally save an infected file; thus making reformatting pointless. You can also try downloading full versions of antivirus programs via torrents, which is (correct me if I am wrong) illegal. Finally, try getting some free antivirus software like mentioned above. Look around the internet for free executable files; some of them are amazing. I can't remember the names of the good ones, but if I remember, I will edit my post.

Its better to just re-format youre Pc, instead of downloading a antivirus...But thats the case if you have ALOT OF VIRUSES, in which case a free antivirus wont be able to detect ALL of the viruses, and even less remove or quarantine them.. ( some paid antivirus are worse than free ones BTW) Some of the best FREE antivirus on the market are: Avast.( thats the one i use) AVG ( highly reccomended and more downloaded then Avast ( although i personally dont like it) Some of the best PAID antiviruses are: Mcafee: Simply put its a Firewall, antivirus and Anti spyware all together, 1 of the best antiviruses out there hands down.. Norton: Dont use this, although its HIGHLY reccomend, i dont advice you to use this, and even less to ACTUALLY PAY, to use it.. Bitdefender: This is currently the 2nd single best antivirus on the market right now, it can stop and delete keyloggers, spywares, basically anything you can throw at it!.. Last but certanly not least: KASPERSKY: this is the BEST antivirus, it can stop a train if it had to....( thats just a exxageration..lol).. it can do anything you want to youre viruses.. Its ranked on number 1, on most if not all review websites, and there is a reason why it is... If you got money on youre side, use it on THIS... worth every penny.. But other than antiviruses, you do know that youre pc may be infected by SPYWARE...( most free antiviruses, and some even Paid antiviruses cant stop Spywares.) Spywares, can steal youre personal data like: credit card numbers, password, etc.. And can make youre PC, EXTREMELY SLOW, if not functional at all.. Some good anti-spyware are: Spybot Search And Destroy ( the one im currently using) Ad-Ware ( It used to be EXCELLENT, but now its just a pain to use,.) But like i said on the first part of the post, its just better to re format youre pc, its easier faster, and even SAFER.., HOPE THAT HELPED :D

o gosh now im confused so i shouldn't reformat if i have alot of viruses? 'cause i thought that if i reformat it would get rid all the viruses and also how many viruses is considered alot. Last question(i hope) how do i reformat on windows vista x.x

Reformatting should always be the last resort. And yes, reformat will delete EVERYTHING off of your computer. If you are going to do this, you would need to back up your files (if you have a virus, you are risking backing that up too, btw), have your Windows OS disc, and all your drivers for your computer before even think about doing it. Anyways, Malwarebytes have been known to get rid of these rogues (a program that tells you that you have a lot of viruses in attempt to scam you into buying their so-call product) in the past. So try downloading it, updating it, and running a scan with it in Safe Mode (Pressing F8 during boot up and before the Windows load up screen shows up. it should give you few options to boot into it). Edit: Seriously, there's a crapload of people been getting this lately...Firefox+AdBlock Plus will get prevent it from getting on your computer in the future.

You can try to download Malwarebytes or AVG and do a full system scan. Or you can just reformat your computer. I have Windows Vista too and I think you press Ctrl+F11 when your restart your computer.

But i would simply reccomend a Re-Format, no matter how many viruses you got... And yes re-format will delete all youre Viruses, but also every single information you have in youre PC, i wouldnt reccomend you to install youre information into a USB, ( like other basil users said above.) cause its already infected, so it would be USELESS to re format then put every single folder u had, again! it would infect the PC again!..,Although you can put into a USB youre music Files, cause Viruses dont hide there ( atleast not that i know of..). So basically put: Re-format youre Pc.. you will need a Vista CD.

She probably doesn't know how to reformat... It doesn't take minutes and it's not that simple. You need the OS CD, as well as follow through CDs. There are many steps and if she doesn't know how to get rid of a virus, she can't reformat.
