Getting a new laptop, what to get?

Hi Basil, i need your help! I'm gonna get a laptop which needs to last me at least 4 years through college. My budget is ~1000 give or take. I prefer something with high performance that can handle games such as modern warfare, but also efficient for school and the like. Also, i like a decent-sized screen.. small screens bother me lol. So, can anyone recommend a great computer for me?

Every manufacturer has known glitches and eff ups, but most decent computers (with enough CPU/RAM to run whatever game you're playing) should be able to provide quality for a few years. I have a Toshiba Satellite which I have been using for 2 years now with no problems at all (EXCEPT the F12 key, but in general it works perfectly fine) it is 15.4" diagonal which fits nicely in a backpack but is a pretty decently sized screen imo, 2gh dual core, 2 gb ram, ati radeon graphics, etc etc in all a pretty decent computer for ordinary schoolwork and maple. The best advice I can give you is before you buy any laptop just research its components, network cards graphics cards etc, and google it, because some are known to have major faulty bits ;o good luck!
