Shouldn't that be placed above the mother's right to choose? Your statement about how it isn't manslaughter is just wrong. Just because you can't go to jail for it doesn't mean it's right. A fetus WILL develop into a human, and if you don't realize that, you shouldn't be here.

Chill. :D [/quote] Late-term abortions would likely remain illegal if abortions were to become legal in the U.S., wih the exception of the mother's life being in danger. @EpicAran: You also shouldn't have a say unless the mother wants your opinion. Sure you contributed to half of the zygote, but it's her body. @Gath: When your debating on abortion you're usually also debating when a fetus is considered "living" (and abortion is therefore murder/manslaughter). Personally, I believe a fetus isn't a baby until at least the third trimester, which I think should be the limit for abortions. 24 weeks is more than enough time to decide whether to abort the fetus or not.

[/quote] first of all abortions are only performed very early when the fetus isn't too far developed second the law states that a baby counts as person as soon as it's outside of the mother and breathed for the first time third according to your logic beating your meat and having your period is also murder since they have the potential to turn into a human

I just don't see how destroying an Embryo is murder. That's like saying birth control kills babies because it doesn't give them a chance to live. Late term abortion is another story, though.

Let me ask you a question... You have just gotten the news that you are pregnant, and you are 16. Do you get rid of the baby? Or risk getting cervical cancer and having it? Now another one- You have just gotten the news that you are pregnant, and you are 26 and you are a C.E.O of a company. Do you want to keep the baby, considering that you are stabile, or get rid of it because it might get in the way of your company? The situations are completely different, therefore it causes different thought.
