Why do they lick thier thumb or whatever finger when passing papers down to the rows in class?

It's gross, but only one of my teacher does it the sanitary way (she wears this thing on her thumb to help un-stick the papers).

The school paper tastes like cherry, so they lick it whenever they can whenever the students are in the room, but they make it look like they aren't doing it for that reason.

sometimes 2 pages can stick together... the saliva gets a better grip on the paper and it is disgusting.. i felt the paper wet sometimes..
