thats not that much for a lvl 31.. i've seen a lvl 30 with over 2000 mp on this site somewhere..

Although it may seem important, Mp really does not determine a mage's prowess. Int does, which I, have a lot of. I do have a lot of Mp too though since I followed the "Sane build" of 1 Magic Bolt, who wants to level up in "hell" from level 8-12 just like u did from level 7-8 for...2 extra mp? O.o

Is my character screwed?" after job advnace mages get a 500+ mp boost so u r pretty much in the ball park and btw.... there is no avg... sum ppl instead of using 10 sp into int... the put into mp increase after the max max mp thingy from skils which allows them to have a higher mp than other mages...but around lvl 35 you should hit 2k mp...i might be off a bit since i put 5 ap into mp

hagren, your dude is not screwed i think. cuz when u make second job advancement, u gain like 800 mp.
