"I'm thrilled to be the new judge on American Idol," DeGeneres said Wednesday. "I've watched since the beginning, and I've always been a huge fan. So getting this job is a dream come true, and think of all the money I'll save from not having to text in my vote." She is taking the spot of Paula Abdul. Paula quit American Idol because Simon got paid well over 15million a year sitting there and judging, on the other hand, Paula had gotten a RAISE for the next year and she was sitting at 1.5million. Because of this she has quit and Ellen is taking her spot. IMO, it's better. Opinions?

Gawd, Who watches that show anymore. Its always the same outcome. They make one album then never come out again. Except for the little few.

Ellen's getting sued But, it's not Simon's fault that he's the reason people like the show. Paula says "You're so great. You have such a future." And then maybe she'll shed a tear. But Simon is honest, and he says what the people are thinking. So there's no sense in her quitting a job where she gets to sit down and listen to people sing and gets payed 1.5million dollars.
