The sock monster in your hamper or washing machine got tired of socks and started eating shirts. Before you come to this conclusion, however, look under your bed to see whether the ogre under the bed is hoarding the shirts. A third possibility: if there is someone else in your home who is of the right size to wear your shirts, it is possible that the shirts ended up in this person's closet.
