Right now the performance increase of DDR3 RAM is fairly minimal. I'd say it's probably not worth it. http://ixbtlabs.com/articles3/cpu/ddr2-800-vs-ddr3-1333.html

Also, how much of that do you actually understand, and how much do you think the TS will understand? How can you translate that into real world performance? Under the advantages section, it says that DDR3 has twice the I/O of DDR2, and while that is technically true, that doesnt translate into 2x real world performance, otherwise the benchmark posted by LWP would be a LOT different. it is NOT WORTH IT, because the price is reallly expensive atm, go for ddr2, the only difference is probably 100mhz

You probably won't notice the difference unless you run really memory access intensive programs, which Maple isn't one of them!
