Best Laptop, -Prefer nice looking, -Very quick, -A nice 320gb+ hard drive -Able to play the most detailed of games, no problem, fast with internet, no lag. -Im not exactly loaded, but i need a good laptop to live with me about 3-4 years :D. (end of school) -Budget: anything up to $2500, as i said i wanna buy a really good laptop to alst me long. But its flexible, VERY flexible XD

You say you aren't loaded and yet you have an $2500 budget? xD Spending so much on a laptop isn't such a great idea, as they tend to get dated much quicker than a desktop. If it were meh, I just spend it on laptop that's like $1000-$1500 for the mobility, when you set off to college. Then used the rest to build a desktop at home for more heavy gaming. Anyways, if you go to the laptop gaming section of the BestBuy website, the Asus there are good - the G51 and G71. Just don't get that Alienware or any of them for that matter. -complete ripoff- xD Also, couldn't you just have bumped up the other two threads you made, instead of making a new one? o.O

Its only competitor is the Clevo M980NU ( the only other laptop capable of SLIing two GTX 280ms ). The each have their caveats, but pricewise, they are almost exactly the same ( I went through three times because I was sure I messed up the configuration ). Im not saying he should get an alienware laptop, but its good to know that some companies are trying to be more wallet friendly ( though, its likely due to the recession ). It also seems the M17 follows a similar trend since it now has the option for Xfired HD 4850s, which also means that previous M17 owners should be able to upgrade their 3870s as well.

How much are either? I saw a $2400 one on newegg with Xfired 4870's. I'm just not sure if the drivers were fixed yet.

The M17 with xfired 4850s and a P8600 ( i think ) is around $1700 before any kind of tax or anything. Both the M17X and the M980NU are about $2400 with the P8700 and SLId GTX 280s. Also, the newer G51 and G71 from BB dont count because of how they are stripped. While they are good price/performance, they are stripped of their accessories, cds, as well as the 2 year standard and 1 year warranty, along with weaker hardware ( it also bears mentioning that the GTX 260m in all G51s ( not sure about G71s ) is downclocked and is closer to the 9800mGTX in performance ). Any boutique seller where you can get all of the extras that the laptop is supposed to come with currently starts off at no less than $1600. As for the Asus W90 youre talking about, its neutered. The HD 4870s in that use GDDR3 memory rather than GDDR5, otherwise, as a setup, XFired HD 4870s would beat SLId GTX 280ms.

I just realized that the G51's "estimated" battery life is just over 2 hours... and thats just Best Buy's supposed time. (darn gtx260) Not the best for daily travelers or classes.

You might want to include screen size. I personally would prefer something around 13-14 inches since I consider portability quite important. I would never buy a 17 inch laptop. Most of the gaming laptops(high end) are 17 inches. The screen size also affects the results the graphics card would get on the laptop. So a smaller laptop with a weaker graphics card doesn't mean it wont get good results.
