Choosing a Hard Drive

Hello everyone, I would like to ask your opinion on an important matter. I am choosing a 1TB hard drive and I have narrowed down the choice between these two: link and link I have viewed benchmarks for them both and it seems that they are better than each other in different aspects. They are both the same price and they both have good reviews, so I was wondering which one you guys think I should get. Thanks in advance

Western Digital HDD is probably the better choice The Seagate .12 (I think) had a high failure rate (not so sure about this)

I've had nothing but problems with WD Drives. None of the ones I've owned have lasted any longer than three months. I'd say go with the Seagate. The "mistake" with the 7200.11's has since been fixed with the 7200.12 series. I purchased a bunch of them recently, and they're working great. They're also next to inaudible, fast, and run quite cool.

You have your Seagate and Western Digital fans. Honestly, to tell you the truth, they're the two biggest competing hard drive companies and each person likes the other one, so I would flip a coin and pick that one. There's no difference at all, really. All hard drives fail, all electronics can come dead on arrival, it's just luck if you get a good one.

Agent and Needle are right, you cant really go wrong with either one.
