free single player fps

well i was wonderin since sometimes i get stuck with no internet, if there are any free fps's out there that are free and single player that would work on a single core athlon and an 8500gt thx ahead of time... ps... i put this in non-ms tech since i have a 'technical computer' question ^_^ please answer... i promise i won't bust a beastmode

Here is a list of free ones. Im not sure if they require you to be online to play, since the only FPS games I play are on consoles. LOL, wont bust a beastmode...that phrase should be coined.

I think Half-Life2 and Portal and Cryostasis can be played with decent frames on a 8500GT... but it's not free :L The only free one I've heard of (or played) is Sauerbraten :L
