Losing my best friend, please help

I met her this year, and we became best friends. I started to like her and she started to like me. We never went out. We are still best friends but, recently she told me it's been getting awkward...and she lost her last best friend like this. And i don't want to lose her, i really don't not because i like her, it's because she's the best friend i've ever had. I just don't know what to do.

If you are just friends make sure you keep your distance. Don't crowd her space. She is your best friend but remember she still is a female. Don't do or say anything to break that friendship label.

I don't know how you can call someone your best friend honestly without knowing her for longer than you have. I have several really close guy friends, and I had them for YEARS - some for as many as ten years - and eventually, began to date one of them. And even when I had a crush on one of them, it was never awkward. It sounds like it's her problem, not yours. Things are only as awkward as she makes them, especially if it's not mutually awkward. Make sure that she knows that you want to keep things platonic and that you aren't going to push for a relationship unless it comes about that both of you develop real feelings for one another. The best love relationships are built upon good friendships. If she can't handle it, then she can't. And if she tries to separate from you and you try to win her back, she'll really think you have the hots for her. Be honest and ask her what you can do to decrease the awkwardometer.
