| PLEASE NOTE THAT I WASN'T THE ONE WHO CAME UP WITH THIS, I JUST COPY-PASTED AND PUT IT ON BASIL. CREDITS TO Teekobrohay OF THE NEXON FORUMS FOR DISCOVERING THIS The readiness of the gaming community to pay real money in return for virtual items is also a factor which should be taken into account. If the community associated with a particular game does not, in the main, wish to do this, in-game items cannot be used to turn a significant profit. WoW is a case in point here; although the subscr1ption fee for play has been raised, gamers, after initial rumblings, have accepted the need to pay the increased amount. If gamers are willing to pay more to play a game, they are also likely to pay in-game items. ...This is an illusion known as Online gaming fraud. Gachaphon "IS" gambling. Gamble [gam-buhl] to play at any game of chance for money or other stakes. to stake or risk money, or anything of value, on the outcome of something involving chance: to gamble on a toss of the dice. . "Lottery " means any plan for the distribution of a thing of value, whether tangible or intangible, to a person or persons selected by chance from among participants, some or all of whom have given a consideration for the chance of being selected. Therefore that fact cannot be argued this is a legit gambling operation. Now that it falls under the category of gambling. 1. The demographic of maplestory is (1) >18 year old : (100) . 2. Nexon cash cards can be purchased from selected retailers without age verification, though purchasing these cards is not illegal! 3. The fact that gachaphon gambling, lottery tickets can be purchased and used by underage members of this video game community is in fact illegal. 4. "chance for money or other stakes. to stake or risk money, or anything of value, on the outcome of something involving chance whether tangible or intangible, to a person or persons selected by chance from among participants, some or all of whom have given a consideration for the chance of being selected." this right here is enough evidence to classify this under all underage gambling laws. If you would like to read your own state policys I suggest you read them yourself but they all have one thing in common... NO MINORS Try all you want you die hard defenders of Nx cash even spending 12 dollars on virtual items is ridiculous if you take a step back and look at the picture... How much money did I spend on Diablo 2..... Nothing. credits to UmbraSoul of the Nexon Forums for coming up with this Unfortunately I've been researching a while and Teekobrohay makes a good case. This is defined as gambling and underage gambling at that.. Pixels are nothing more than chips like in a casino. Therefore this is promoting underage gambling... Now that these video games are increasing popularity they may attract the attention of a new type of case based on online lottery classifications in video games. Lets face it, video lottery games are like video games...yet video games with in game |

| Irene Bruno claims in her lawsuit filed in May that the lid on the cup came off as she tried to sip her coffee just after buying it at a Starbucks drive-thru window in Midland, Michigan on Dec. 9, 2006. She seeks a minimum of $75,000 in damages, alleging she has suffered "extreme humiliation and embarrassment"- she received her settlement. copied from wall of text that obviously NO ONE READ. |
Rapptz : A gamble is exchanging money for a rate of receiving something. Gachapon gives a 100% success rate of receiving a prize, crappy or not. While gambling has a low probability of winning a reward, whether it be money or something else.
Dam beat me to it |

| The thing is, the transaction to convert dollars to NX cash is perfectly legal, after that, whatever the user does with their NX cash, the legal system does not affect it. That's why Nexon created an imaginary currency that follows their own rules, instead of having your paypal account directly linked to your account. |

Gambling is risking money for something, and that something may be better or worse then how much money you spent. Because the prize can be crappy or not crappy, it's GAMBLING. OT:My bad, it's perfectly legal cuz when you signed up you basically say ur over 18 and if ur not then too bad. |
