|
finalpersona : waah waaah waahh? get over it, you run 6 games at a time, then tell me how easy it is to have EVERY SINGLE THING PERFECTLY WORKING...nothings perfect, wait, if it doesnt get updated in 2 years, cut yourself, kthnx bye
these answers really tik me off seriously think about it... google runs so many servers its rediculous yet where are the issues? lag? glitches? i think not... BHP Billiton runs mines all over the world, issues? non-existent Japanese underground railway system, 1% of all trains are late, a late train is 5 seconds off, 0.1% of trains are canceled, canceled is 20 seconds These are multibillion dollar multinational companies with larger logisitical issues than anything nexon has to deal with yet they manage to perform day in day out, why can't nexon? |
In the case of Google, we're talking a company with billions of dollars at its disposal. Billions. That means that the millions Nexon makes is just a decimal place rounding error to a company like Google. Regarding comparing physical companies to software- that's one of the first things you learn studying CS. Everyone always inevitably asks "If we can do X, why can't my computers work properly". (Where X is some physical task like building a bridge, or launching a rocket, etc...). The answer is simple- in the case of a physical task, such as building a bridge that can hold 10,000 tons of weight, you have a definitive test you run at the end- see if it stands at 0 tons of weight, and then put 10,000 tons of weight on it. If it's still standing, you know you have a bridge that can support 10,000 tons of weight. In computer software it's completely different, since you have to test every possible interaction that might ever occur. It's be the equivilant of testing that same bridge in the physical world for every possible combination of weight that might be on it, every car type, where each car stopped for gas, what day of the week it was, where all the drivers stopped for lunch, etc... Infinite possible combinations of variables to test for. Yes, Nexon can do a much better job of quality control on their software. They really need to step up their QA game a bit. However, understand you're comparing apples to oranges when you compare them to a company that produces physical things, or a company with hundreds of thousands of times more money than they have. |
Nexon makes a buttload of money, in 2008 they made over 230 million USD, i'd say thats enough to employ more technicians to fix the game, but do they ever? WoW tech support runs 24 hours, but Nexon support runs the normal 9-5 kinda thing. It's bull, they're just not willing to fix some things til' later because atleast the money is stil rollin' in. |
