Polearm vs Spear

I am aware that, after the Big Bang, there will be no difference between "slash" and "stab" moves. I was wondering which choice of weapon would be the best fit for a spearman/DK/DrK. And explain why please XD

the best one to use will be the purple surfboard due to its fast speed but, it is priceless and rare to a new level. since the PSB is so rare, the arcglaive is the next best option due to its 10x base attack and normal speed but, it requires 80 dex. it is not that hard to get these days though =) with potential AND THEN theres the skiis which are normal speed 9x base attack spears which are the third best option and a great one at that if the arcglaive is out of your range. =] if none of these (glaive/skiis) are possible to get for you, a very high attack karstan/soul spear or even higher attack other PA/spear will do I must recommend the glaive though, its the best. And, a slow weapon should be your absolute last resort, like, you just got hacked and now your friend gave you a junk item he got training or something...karstan/soul spear should be your weapon if you still have it from your 60s =D

There are normal speed spears too.... No point and going PA and adding dex just to use an arcglaive

[/quote] actually, hime's is better with a polearm, spear is more of a 4th job thing, those guides were back in the day of maps with really small mobs

Which one is better depends on the weapon, if you can 2 hit a mob with a spear but it all the sudden takes like 4 hits to kill with PA fury, then stick with the spear. But once you can 3 hit the mob with fury you should use PA Its really not likely to hit the max number of monsters with PA, you'll usually quickly kill off a mob and be stuck with like 2-3 stragglers that take forever to kill with PA crusher

polearm is faster, while spear is stronger, it's up to you depending on what u like either speed or power

BTW VIP/REVERSE/TIMELESS are slow so I don't know why you don't recommend those. if none of these (glaive/skiis) are possible to get for you, a very high attack karstan/soul spear or even higher attack other PA/spear will do I must recommend the glaive though, its the best. Please note that VIP/TIMELESS/REVERSE are all slow spears, and I believe VIP is the best because of its high level giving it the best potential.
