mhi200 : Agreed. There was a (short) list of the uses of strafe after 120, can't remember it (One was 1HKOing bombs at Pap), mostly unneccessary things that aren't worth the extra effort anyway. Oh and also, 5 points could be taken out of hawk if you want, because it is still only level 15 requirement for phoenix and phoenix stuns after BB (At a slightly lower rate) (I think)
Phoenix will now have 95% stun chance, Silver Hawk has 99%, and I've read many posts of many Bow Masters saying "I noticed the difference between 95% and 99% when I stopped dying at (don't remember monster's name) ", that's why im going on maxing Silver Hawk
atlcard : With all respect to the knowledgeable people here, don't sell strafe too short. Quick uses off the top of my head: Bombs at pap Bombs at pianus where you need a guaranteed 10k that you may not get from a hurricane. CWKPQ where you need a 3rd job skill to set off the sigils. In my humble opinion, you COULD do 25 strafe and 25 hawk. When they had the free resets I took 5 out of hawk to get me to 21 inferno ( I had capped it at 16 which is max range in 3rd job) and I took 3 from strafe 2 from MB to get 5 more into thrust. I am still not a believer in full points into thrust - This may all change with big bang and we dont have to do 1237563839364 levels at NEWTS
i think it all depends on the 1hitKO rate on Strafe from Lv.1 to Lv.30, which btw (i think ppl is forgetting) it has 1hitKO chance on frozen enemies... do we even freeze? o.o you're not always gonna be in a party with an I/L Mage or a Sniper; an Aran is more probable to be found in a party... but still, not so common... anyways, this 1-hit-KO chance is only 3% ! at max... -_-' (on frozen enemies, don't forget...) seriously...? Mortal Blow 's 1-hit-KO barely works (on any enemy, and it's 10% chance)... do you really think 3% chance on frozen enemies will be useful at all? O_o i doubt it... EDIT: now that I'm checking, PBB Strafe doesn't have 1-hit-KO chance O_o

So it's basically 400% vs. 100% in terms of one attack, which makes Strafe better for monsters like Blood Booms and Dark Stars. Those monsters require you to hit 10,000 damage in one attack.

Imagine your attack range at lvl.120 is (1900 - 3XXX). Blood booms / Darkstars have 10 000 hp. Post BB level 21 strafe : 132 % X4 : Minimum = 10 032 so it's almost impossible you hit that low with a 1900 min range, and it still 1hko mines. they also have the same def than other level 70 monsters, and not a goodly def that 1/2 your damage. now look at this thread with a bm saying his attack range may suck because it's ''only'' (2800-4600). minimum with 21 strafe : 14 784, again, it's almost impossible he hit that low. pr BB it can work but it depend of the person. I saw somebody saying he use Rain for this. Personally i use inferno on darkstars when they are massed. If you still want to use it maxed strafe isn't more usefull than a lower one at 1hko-ing mines. idk if there are any other ''mines types'' monsters where you can need a higher strafe o.0
spiritrival : No one's talking about Strafe's 1HKO chance anyway.
right, the 1hko on frozen enemies was only in the crossbowmans changes description after they made 'explorers return' some months ago.

D:
yes, pre-bb u gotta max Strafe chwokhunter and spiritrival , so I heard this one guy who said he tested Dodge in Tespia and he says it's not that useful at all...
MrRand0m : Tested vengeance out in tespia , not that great doesnt activate enough for it to be of great use, damage is about the same as 1 arrow with max crit, probably going to add 1 sp to it for fun.

NLrealNL : Okay, since you have a bm in tespia, what does dodge(?) exactly do? and is it good?

MrRand0m : hmm at first i thought dodge is supposed to be like shadow shifter but the thing is I have a shadower with lvl 10 shadow shifter which has the same % chance However my BM still gets hit a lot more, than my shadower, also I see no animations of any sort for dodge so I assume It just adds 20% extra avoidability. I forgot to check avoidability before and after I added the sp =/ but seeing as its a 3rd job skill id max it over inferno anyways. anyways my conclusion is it adds % of avoidability and not 20% chance to evade. hopefully someone can confirm this just to be sure.
what do you think?
