[/quote] I've run some numbers and come up with different results, thus my post. It was really close though. Edit: Nvm, didn't factor in the the tiering. You're right. Was looking more for my own personal results, I know I won't cube for anything past 30% boss damage so the extra benefit from a higher tier was not a factor considered in my numbers. Though I woudn't go so far as calling it "not comparable" they are very close.

Lunch box for hene hoeing. And Sword for DMG IF it was scrolled with 50% SWORD FOR ATTACKS.

The LB wins in terms of DPM. Obviously, the VIP wins in DPH. Personally, I'd go for the LB due to the speed.

I think VIP can win in dpm as well considering if they both have 30% dmg on boss those other 2 lines will have either 6%/9% on the LB and 8%/12% on the VIP. Best case scenario if LB had say 9% and 9% att on extra 2 slots while VIP had 12%/12% that 6% is an incredible increase.

VIP will win. lets say, in a perfect scenario, both weapons are 3 lined, Unique, and perfectly scrolled, 8 enhancement stars on each. although the Lunchbox would be faster than the VIP, and the VIP has more WEP att, the VIP is a 127 weapon, unlocking the 4rth job tier of potentials. it has a chance to have 30% boss damage, 12% total damage, 12% total damage, while the lunchbox can only be 30% boss, 9% damage, 9% damage. the VIP not only has more base att, but it has 6% more total damage. or if you want to go with 12% str and 9% str on both, the VIP would have 6% more str.

The chance of 1, let alone 2 secondary lines giving you 9%/12% bonuses is so small that you'd have to go through probably 50000+ cubes. Even 4% extra is nice but it's not enough for the 8% speed difference between the two. They're only about 13 base attack apart, which should be fewer than 4% of your total if you can afford a perfect LB.

[/quote] It is a 6% difference and the fact you are comparing an impossible weapon (3 lined perfect lb) to a very easily obtained 3 lined VIP 1h Sword a max out on the 12%/12% and 9%/9% is comparable. People should stop comparing ANYTHING to the Lunch Box, because it is unobtainable and the few who have em either have em meh scrolled or perfect scrolled (VERY RARE). VIP > LB forever and on until lunch box is released again.
