I'm really in a stale-mate here. This local tech shop is offering 30% off all LOWEST MARKED prices, there are two headphones that are originally $50, and they've gone down to about $15 each. I'm only buying them cause it's a great deal. http://www.thesource.ca/estore/product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=Online&category=Full+Size+Headphones&product=3319554 or http://www.thesource.ca/estore/product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=Online&category=Full+Size+Headphones&product=3319531

Depends on what you plan to do with them- Based on the reviews the Toxic Rock phones might be more suited for gaming because the reviews indicate heavy bass boost ability at the expense of total sound quality, while the Sony phones might be better for general music listening because of essentially flat response across the whole spectrum. Also the reviews seemed to indicate the Sony phones are more comfortable for long term listening. I'd probably get the Sony pair, especially at $15. (Wish my local stores had sales like that..!)

I was wondering why the name was familiar, so before the product image loaded I looked at these headphone next to me. They are the Sony MDR-XD200... They're okay. =/

I got the Sony MDR-XD200s. The only thing that I hate is that the cord is really long. (If you wanted to, you can strangle someone with it) If you get them, keep the mode switches on the bottom on movie, it allows the bass to pump, while music mode has bass clips that stop it from being really audible. Anyways, if you miss that deal, you can get it at your local Walmart for $20~ regular price.

[/quote] Actually, it's $25, but then take an additional 30% off. And the other ones $20, take an additional 30%. Comes to 13.49 and 17.49, basically $15 each. I chose the Headrush one. I enjoy the purchase, stylish and the leather is just so god damn comfy. Unlike the Sony's cheap-looking leather. |

Were you able to actually try them on in the store..? That's the one thing really missing with online sales- I don't know how many times I wish I could have actually seen something or tried it before ordering it.
