Black Mage 1st Appearance

So I was doing the Evan quests and then starting thinking about how the Black Mage was introduced to maplestory. My friend told me the Black Mage story came along with the pirates. From the Aran story, the Black Mage was sealed like ages b4 pirates came to victoria island. I think the Evan story had a similar background story for the Black Mage as Aran. So heres my question, if the Black Mage was in the past, how come the maple world had no idea of his existence till pirates came? If you have the proper background info, can you pm it to me or post it. EDIT: I forgot to mention Pink Bean (a Black Mage disciple) and Cygnus Knights

I believe the legend went that as time went on maplers forgot about the past, causing them to forget about him as well.

Most likely its one of those things that the townspeople would rather forget. He was pretty terrifying. Of course, only a few job instructors really know about him, pretty much all the other refugees are long dead. edit: Furthermore, the retelling of the tale of Testonen was probably one of the few times it was necessary to even mention the Black Mage. And you know job instructors, they only tell you important stuff when you reach the brink of a cataclysmic war.

Because Wizet/Nexon didn't think of it until now? And I thought the Black Mage was introduced when Evans came out...Well, actually, not introduced , but acknowledged .

CKs originated as an elite guard for the Empress of Maple World, with their primary mission being to stop the resurrection of the Black Mage. In other words, the release of CKs had already well acknowledged the Black Mage way before Evans came out.

BanditHelper More $? On a Serious Note: I can't remember the story for CKs. Maybe they were trying to defend from the black mage, but couldn't last long. So, that's where the heroes came in? And, from what I know that is irrelevant, Resistance classes are neither pro-adventurer nor pro-black mage affiliates.
