| Where do you stand? Just wondering. As for me, it's physics. |

| Bio - Easy but boring sometimes Chemistry - Challenging and relatively hard Physics - Extremely hard and boring. I don't take physics anymore because of this. Edit: I'm at a level in chemistry where they ask questions like 2-Methylbuta-1,3-diene, CH2=C(CH3)-CH=CH2, is used as a monomer in the manufacture of synthetic rubbers. Which compound would not produce this monomer on treatment with concentrated H2SO4 at 443K? a) (CH3)2C(OH)CH(OH)CH3 b) HOCH2CH(CH3)CH2CH2OH c) HOCH2CHCH3)CH(OH)CH3 d) HOCH2C(CH3)(OH)CH2CH3 We must complete 40 of them in an hour. |

| Took Chem last year, pretty easy. I'm taking AP Bio this year and it was hella hard at first but it's getting easier. Haven't taken Physics yet. Probably going to take it senior year since I'm taking AP Chem next year as a junior. |

| Bio is fun so far. I absolutely despise chem so far, though. I tried learning some physics before going to class, and I failed horribly. |

AP Physics all the way! |

| I remember some physics guy telling me "Biology is just applied chemistry. Chemistry is just applied physics. Thus, physics is the ultimate science." Still, I kind of disagree. I prefer chemistry. |

|
supernoob : Thank you for giving me more reason not to take AP Chem . AP Physics all the way!
Oh, I don't take AP chem. I take A2 chem. AS and A2 are like the super hard New Zealand versions of anything you would normally learn in America. By the way, the example I gave is a relatively easy one. This is what we would call hard: Polymerisation of 1,1-dichloroethene produces a dense, high melting point substance that does not allow gases to pass through. It is used as cling wrapping, and an anti oxidant in some nucleophilic and electrophilic substitution reactions. Which sequence appears in a short length of the product polymer chain? a) -[CH2CCl2CH2CCl2CH2CCl2]- b) -[CHClCHClCHClCHClCHClCHClCHCl]- c) -[CCl2CCl2CCl2CCl2CCl2CCl2CCl2]- d) -[CH2CCl2CHClCHClCH2CCl2]- |

This. In America, they teach you AS level chem at second year university. Here they teach it to 10th graders. Funnily enough, people are still able to score in the high 90s. |
