YuGiOh has no Yugi anymore?

Maybe I'm trippin' or just ignorant. Whenever I see trailors of a new episode of YuGiOh on TV or watch parts of an episode now and then, I find that Yugi is missing. I'm seeing completely new people roaming around in the more recent seasons. Don't get me wrong, I'm nothing near an avid watcher. I did watch YuGiOh all the time when I was a kid (Back when Yugi, Joey, Tristan, and Pegasus were around). So... where's Yugi?

The kid is gone now. The only time he came back was GX when Yugi faced Jaden.

5D's is pretty cool watch it every now and then because I have nothing else to watch.

Well... There is a little reference to the other seasons--like duel academy. But there is a 5th anniversary movie where the protagonists go to the same time period.

Idk exactly, but from what I gather he went off and became successful and famous and all that, and then the new eps are about a different set of chars.
