So I'm getting sorta close to 70, and I'm not sure what to get first. On one hand ER means more survivability, but on the other hand SR is a new attack skill that doesn't only hit undead. BTW I'm definitely maxing Holy Symbol first.

Erm, you don't want to max ER in the first half of third job (It's hardly any use at all, but it's still better than doom.). HS, however, should definitely be second in line to be maxed. SR has been a Priest's main skill since the party exp ratio changed. Get it first.

UsagiiIf you have the intention of being someones heal and HS bish, then go ER first since you'll most likely go to higher leveled spots then with stronger mobs. Himes, MDT, Grims, Skeles.. whatever you guys train at, they all deal pretty nasty magic damage. SR isn't any good for solo training unless maxed.

Their ranged attacks are physical. This is why it's saved for later on in third job unless you plan on training in Ludibrium often.
Usagii : SR isn't any good for solo training unless maxed.
15+ is efficient enough to use when soloing at Himes or Gallops.

You've never trained much as a Priest, huh? (If you have a Bishop/100+ Priest at all.) ER is useless unless you go to Grims for some reason. It's just there in anticipation of any future mobs with more elemental attacks, and for certain boss fights. SR isn't that great until level 12+, but it's best to get the first 12 sp in ASAP so you can train quickly ASAP. Back when I was a Priest, it was HS first, but SR made for fast solo Himes training at 95+. Now that we have Gallops, it should be smooth sailing from 75 to 100. After that, it's hell as usual.

I trained the more old school way and ER was a life saver (and money saver) for me. Aka going around and just heal & mob the monsters. Although my bad that ER doesn't do any good at himes. We don't have himes in EMS so I've never been there myself personally. All in all, SR never did anything good for me unless maxed, or atleast 20+. But if you put SR at 20+, you might as well go maxed at first. It all comes down to how you intend to train. I've skipped HS on my latest priest and went for max SR and ER right away. And I can only say.. it's the fastest training I've ever had.

If he put points into ER, he would see no benefit until he goes to Pap or Zakum.
