| Introduction This is a Hero guide. Why make a new one though? There are many other guides, so why bother on another? Well, with big bang coming up in a month or two, and most people being able to make money easily, this guide will be a guide that will be entirely based on post big bang changes. For now the information will state "after the big bang" or similar phrases, this will be changed after the big bang has taken effect in global maplestory. Why be a hero? High hp High DPM at bosses Can kill Bigfoot with ease Attack quickly Consistent damage Why shouldn't you be a hero? Well, I honestly cannot see any reason why not to be a hero, the reasons why you may not like it are: slow speed, haste shoes fix this, and the fact that warriors have a short range. Last updated: September 26th 2010 Guide still in maintenance here and there, also note that I am Australian, so the spelling of some words may vary Big thanks to AdroxNight for helping edit the guide! Reproduction of any part of this guide is not allowed without my permission; send me a PM if you wish to use a part of this guide. Weapons Before we go into skills or AP, the first thing to decide is your weapon, first we start with the two choices of sword or axe, now, after the big bang patch the choice can be changed any time you want as sword mastery, and axe mastery become one skill as do axe booster and sword booster and axe final attack and sword final attack. Long story short, swords pack a smaller punch at a faster speed, and axes give a harder punch at a slower speed. 2hand axes are generally a slow speed, 1 hand axes are generally a normal speed 2 hand swords are a generally a normal speed and 1 hand swords are generally a fast speed. paragraph needs clarification You may be thinking, why on earth would I want a slow speed axe when I can have a fast speed sword? Well, there are damage multipliers in maplestory. After the big bang the damage multipliers are as follows: 2hand axe: 1.32 2hand sword: 1.32 1hand axe: 1.20 1hand sword: 1.20 Also, stabs are more suited to swords and axes are stronger with slashes, brandish does a slash and stab, and as far as I know, brave slash does 2 slashes and 1 stab, this explains why the damage multiplier of axe has become the same as swords, and I am assuming that the speed of swords makes up for the 2slashes. The choice is yours, by theory and a few guesses swords are better till 4th job with brandish having 1 slash and 1 stab, and then axes and swords becoming equal at 4th. Weapon Speeds Two Handed Weapon Level 30 to 34: Blue Axe (N6), Scimitar (N6) Level 35 to 49: Lionhart (F4), Maple Dragon Axe (N6), Zard (N6), Niam (N6), Sabertooth (S7) Level 50 to 57: Japanese Map (F4), Lion's Fang (N6), The Rising (S7) Level 58 to 79: Japanese Map (F4)*, Bain Sword (F5, There's less people carrying those), Maple Demon Axe (N6), Doombringer (N6), Maple Soul Rohen (N6), The Shining (N6), Sparta (N6), Chrono (S7) Level 80 to 99: Night Raven's Wing (F5), Colonian Axe ( |

| Erm, for the first job build, you do realize that you can max HP Increase at any time, right? You don't need to max it first, you get the 20% hp increase regardless, so, it's smarter to go PS or SB first for easier training. EDIT: This guide needs a lot of work, Ground Smash isn't as useful when compared to Booster, you should max Booster, not Ground Smash. |

| huntreking Fighters don't really need Ground Smash though, SB is much better, only good thing about it is that it's a semi ranged attack. It gets replaced in 3rd with Brandish, so you might as well invest points into Booster instead. There was another guide and people found out that it's better to max Booster than GS. |

| Axes are no longer affected by the slash stab ratio as it was removed. Also acc still plays its role as it dose now warriors will still need acc. All in all this guide needs work it seems you hardly have any real knowalge of saders let alone heros (I mean come on panic useless). and as a sader you would always want to max combo first then you could either go the old route of maxing coma then max brandish. I'll edit this post as I find more errors Edit: You would use a finisher based on the situation your in on a single target at full health you would use panic if you wanted to get it out ofthe way quickly. Even if it dosnt kill the monster since there is now a 90% chance to put the monster into darkness if it dose get off an attack its going to miss you and if you have chance attack it will die with your next brandish attack. Times you would use coma are when you either A. need a quick stun of monsters if you dont have any points into shout yet or when there are 4-6 monsters use coma on the mob. More often then not all 6 monsters will be stunned setting up chance attack with your next brandish wipe out 3 of them with brandish then work on the other three. |

|
huntreking : or maybe the fact that we spam brave slash for 80 levels.
Did you do the math on this or is this claim completely unfounded. I have not completed my work, but through the research (although minimal from a lack of resources) that finishers will probably be worthwhile in 4th job.
huntreking : Weapons
1h swords, and only fast 2h swords are worthwhile. 2h Swords are too slow, most axes are even slower. To make it worse, the 2h multiplier just doesnt justify the lower speeds, and the slightly higher Watt on the weapons will never make up for the lack of speed. Not to mention, the fact that not being able to use a shield kills most 2h weapons. In summary: Use either 1h swords or fast 2handed swords. Using anything else will hinder you and should not be used unless you are using the weapon purely for "looks" or some other similar reason.
huntreking : After the big bang update, accuracy depends on your level. For every level your character is under the level of the monster that you are killing, you lose 5% of your hit rate.
That is only the level penalty. While it is true that you can be dexless more easily after the big bang, you still cant say acc and dex are useless. http://www.basilmarket.com/forum/1713638/0/A_Look_at_Warrior_Accuracy_in_the_Near_Future.html#
huntreking : End result: 10 Hp increase 20 Slash blast 20 Power slash 11 Iron body
I'm just going to point out that the optimal order is: Slash Blast (20), Power Strike(20), Iron Body (11), Max HP increase (10).
huntreking : Fighter skill build As tempting as it may be to max ground smash or what not first, you want to get those first 19 points in mastery to stabilize your damage, then put 6 in booster for that extra speed .(it makes a bigger difference to your damage then you think) After that you want to max out either ground smash or improved fundamentals, but you want both done before you move on to anything else. Now you want to max out rage for that +20 weapon attack. Then max PG and put make booster 11. You want to save your SP until level 70. Final attack makes your damage worse before 3rd job (the only reason you have FA is to charge orbs faster) so save that up and then max out FA when your get your 3rd job advancement. End result 19 Mastery 20 Booster 10 Improved Fundamentals 20 Rage 20 Power guard 11 Ground smash 20 Final Attack The reason Mastery is 19 is because you only get one accuracy from level 19 to 20, and as far as i know accuracy plays no part at all over the BB patch
First, acc plays a part. Second The final point in mastery adds 2% mastery. You will want to have it maxed (20/20) or else. Also, Final Attack does not hinder you. It is a 40% chance to do an extra 150% damage and it has no delay. Its impossible for FA to lower your damage.
huntreking : Crusader Skill Build I recommend putting 21 in brandish first, then 21 in combo attack, then maxing them both. It would m |

Bosses dont get darknessed or stunned do they? coma... where it stuns... but like what coma states its a finisher why do you need to finish them off again when they are dead? usually when i panic the monster dies... shout... i use shout to stun and get away... i rather put it in MP... personal preference. |
bello99 : If a dual blade's flash bang works on bosses which it dose panic will have no problem with putting it into darkness and giving us that 25% extra damage.
I forgot to mention that. Thanks for pointing out that bosses can be inflicted with darkness. Although, Takebacker did claim Panic itself wont inflict that darkness status. I have my doubts on what he said. but even if he is right, this does mean we still have a 25% DPM increase when partying with DBs. Also, just to be perfectly clear, the only reason to add dex is if you want to use one of the following pieces of equipment: Stonetooth Sword Night Raven's Wing Taru Spirit Cape (<pretty much the best cape in the game for a warrior) Aside from that dex will should not be needed. The dex luk and acc from your equipment should give you enough acc to hit anything, except pink bean. Edit: I've got time, so I'll do more corrections.
huntreking : When using finishers (coma and panic) you should wait till you get 5orbs till using them, the 5% difference may seem like nothing, but in game it has a notable difference.
Just to note, although the new formula is unknown, the old one had two multipliers for Finishers. The damage would be multiplied by the number of orbs and combo's current damage%. Although... this is oudated information. I wont be able to find out the new formula untill I test things out for myself. But the point was that Panic and Coma have two multipliers, and thats why it was important to get 5 orbs.
huntreking : End result 20 Mastery 20 Booster 10 Improved Fundamentals 20 Rage 20 Power guard 11 Ground smash 20 Final Attack
Your build wont be using Ground Smash as an attack. You will want to max final attack before adding any points into GS. It may also be an option to add 9 points into Iron Body and 2 into GS instead. Both skills are nearly useless with your build, but at least IB does something.
