| Earlier this week, I had a class where I had to present the rulings and dissenting opinions of a few court cases. This girl in my group came up with the idea of doing a skit. Unfortunately, she then quickly did a whole bunch of work before we could convince her otherwise. She wrote her part and did like 99% of the work and then gave me and the other guy two pages to summarize. Both me and him thought the skit was a stupid idea (this is a university course not middle school drama class!) particularly when she told me to dress up in a garbage bag and a wig (I'm supposed to be the judge) and told him to bring audience cards that he's supposed to hold up so that the crowd can laugh or applause or whatever on cue. So yesterday I suggested maybe we should do a powerpoint to put in the background so that people know what's going on in our (lame) script. This is the response I get:
Crazygirl : Ok, I am really confused here, since I don't remember deciding to do a powerpoint when we all met up, nor do your points seem to be in replying to the arguments in the SKIT, so when you put the two together it doesn't make any sense. Firstly, I do not have time to suddenly do a powerpoint, i WORK and have OTHER classes, this is why we met on friday, so that we could get everything hammered out. If you wanted to do a powerpoint, you should have said it then. If Vince can do the rest, that's fine, but I can't do anymore stuff that extensive. Secondly, your counter-criticisms were supposed to be in reply to the criticisms made in the SKIT, which I thought you understood when we met up on Friday. If you put in what you wrote down into the script, it makes absolutely NO SENSE. Those parts need to be REWRITTEN so that they actually pertain to what the script is saying. I am sorry that I gave it to you a day late, but Vince also had it and should have been able to give it to you as well. What part is Vince doing, then, if you are doing all the counter-criticisms? This a complete turnaround from all the things we decided on Friday, apparently that meeting was entirely pointless. Please rewrite the counter-criticisms as soon as you can.
And then, later she writes:
Crazygirl : I'm sorry you guys, but that's it, I can't do this anymore. This whole presentation, this whole course, everything has just been ridiculous, and I've been stressed for weeks and I feel like I'm struggling to get any help with this. I'm dropping the course because I can't do everything by myself, and it's not worth how awful I've been feeling. If you guys still want to use the script, please go ahead and think of it as a going away present, one of each of you can be a lawyer and just make Henrich be the judge or something. However, since this whole skit idea was reportedly just a "gimmick" and my input has been undervalued this entire time.
And now I just get a frantic email from her asking to be added back to the group even though the presentation is tomorrow and we al |
