Well a few days ago i got hacked cuz of a keylogger. What steps do i have to make so i can continue playing on my aran without being afraid of getting hacked again? And can you explain me more about what a keylogger does?

Run Cleaning Software if don't have go t o a tech forum and ask for help. Go to another computer and change all info ex: pw and e-mail if you want. This keylogger going be simple. No, real hacker going hack a mmorpg game just to be richer in the game and those mesos seller took over the meso to real money.

just scan the computer and delete everything off the computer that has the key logger if that doesn't work, then you will have to re imaged your computer

If you simply change your pass/PIC, then the next time you use that character from the infected computer, you'll simply be re-sending your new info to the hacker. So, make sure to: A) Immediately change your info from a clean PC B) Fix your infected PC- Ideally by re-installing windows, which is the only sure-fire way to wipe out all trojans

First, change everything (password, pic, email password) on a DIFFERENT computer. Then, scan ur computer.

OK- your question is in the Tech section now, where you're a lot more likely to get good answers. First thing- DO NOT FORMAT YOUR HARD DRIVE. That's very seldom necessary and it's catastrophic overkill. Second thing- Google the name "Malwarebytes" and download "Malwarebytes anti-malware" scanner. Install it, UPDATE it and run a full scan of your hard drive. If you've never scanned your computer before it's likely it's infested with all kinds of crap that could be doing God knows what to it. And yes, it's possible there may be a keylogger in there as well. But a scan only takes a little while to run to find and remove stuff like that, while formatting means having to re-install EVERYTHING on your computer, starting with Windows itself, and including all your games and programs, not to mention you'd ERASE all your files, music, videos and whatever else you have on it. Malwarebytes will find whatever might be hiding on your computer and remove it. A lot of people here use it to protect their computers, and I use it myself.

[/quote] I respectfully disagree that something like Malwarebytes (or any other AV program, like Norton, whatever) can clean your PC to a known safe state. It will remove what it can find, but many viruses are too specialized for the scanners to find. As such, the general rule of thumb I use is that once you find 1 virus, assume there's 32 more hiding that it let in the back door that you don't know about. Just because your AV tool says you're clean, you can't trust that it found everything. All you do know for certain is that you were infected, a back door was WIDE open, and you have no idea what was let in. So, although reformatting is usually too extreme (there's no reason to get rid of all your MP3s from ITunes!), re-installing windows should be the minimum step someone takes to ensure their PC is now virus free. Re-installing windows won't erase any of your data- all your MP3s, videos, whatever will still be there. The only thing you'll lose is: 1) All windows OS files, registry entries, etc... which is good, because the virus has infected these. 2) All Program Files Only #2 should be a concern, since it means you will indeed need to reinstall all your software. It's a pain, but you've not really lost anything. So you reinstall Word, big deal, all your .doc files were moved, by the windows installer, to windows.old.users.documents and settings.username. In summary 1) If you already have your data backed up, sure format away. 2) Otherwise, simply reinstall windows and thus all your programs. You at least don't lose any data. 3) Simply running a virus scanner (or 10) will not guarantee your computers safety.
