Indian, Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan etc. are all a part of Southern Asia and strictly speaking they're known as Asian outside of America whereas Chinese, Japanese, Korean etc. are a part of Eastern Asia and are known as Oriental. The Orient comes from Latin which means East hence Eastern Asia.

Depends. A lot of times when people say asian they're referring to east asians aka orientals, but sometimes they mean asia as a whole.
