yes i am new....my friend is an AMAZING guitar player and he will "hopefully" be teaching me... on a side note he can play something along the lines of "a drum/piano" type thing on the guitar....I HAVE no idea what it is called but whatever

None. Its all personal preferences. I thought this would be obvious. $2000 guitars can sound worse than $200 guitars to many people.

My guitar playing friend has told me, and yes he has given me suggestions but i would like second opinions. OH they are called "first act" guitars

Until you are TRULY dedicated, then get yourself a nice guitar. Otherwise get a cheaper one.

Yamaha's are good for starting. Also, you could try Takamine Jasmine's - they're pretty good in terms of bang-for-the-buck.
