Recently California decided to sue PacifiCare for 9.9 billion $. The private healthcare company had been purposefully ignoring patients and paying doctors less so that they can profit more from people's healthcare. With countries that have free healthcare, there are no companies to profit from it as it's paid for by the tax payer for everyone. Pros and cons of each? Which would you prefer?

Pros of subsidised: I can just walk into the emergency room if there's something wrong with me and not have to worry if I'm going to have to sell my house or get another job in able to afford it Cons: obviously the wait times, but really, they aren't even that bad.

I myself am pretty fed up with private insurance companies (I've already had court battles with two very large companies that refused to do what I PAID them to do).
