| Do any external hard drives out there come bundled with software that can automatically backup your files? Like what Dropbox does. I'm thinking of getting a new backup drive, but I don't want to drag new files into there every single time I want to back up or change anything. |

 | Many backup programs (I hesitate to say all, but I'd be surprised if there were any, at least commercial backup programs that don't), have some kind of "incremental backup" option that will automatically save any files that have changed since the last scheduled backup. (This is what the "Modified" time and date field in Windows is used for. It knows what's new since you last backed up. The "Archive" bit in Windows is also used for this sort of function.) I haven't used anything like this recently enough to be able to recommend any specific products, but Googling for things like "Backup software" should bring up a lot of possible choices. |
