Msiexec.exe cannot be found. - BasilMarket Forum

so i tried to download fifa online and i clicked the set up and it says this Error creating process <msiexec /i vcredist.msi>. Reason: the system cannot find the file specified. And i forgot to mention, i remember there was a file with the exact same name. That was a virus. so i went to search and typed it up and came up with 2 of them. so i decided to delete them both. so now i cant download this game because i know now that msiexec.exe is needed for the download. thanks in advanced.

Depending on what anti-virus program you use, the file MAY still be on your hard drive. Most av programs don't actually delete things, but move them into a separate "virus vault" or "quarantine" folder, just in case of cases like this where you discover later on that you really did need the file. (Unless your av program has a separate "quarantine" button from the "delete" button, in which case delete probably does what you think it does.) Check your anti-virus program settings and see if there's a "History" or "Quarantine" area and see if the file is still listed. The only problem might be that if as you said, there were two of them, you'd have to figure out which one is the real one. The "real" one's original location (usually displayed in an av program's quarantine area) should be something like "C:/WINDOWS/system32. If you find it, there's usually an "undelete" or "restore" button on the Virus Vault (or Quarantine) page that will put it back where it belongs. If you can't find the file anywhere, you can download the Windows Installer package direct from Microsoft and reinstall it.
